Joe Girardi is a Major Prick!!!

Joe Girardi is a major prick

Yeah I said, what the heck are you going to do about it?

So why is this big bad Boston Red Sox fan calling New York Yankees skipper Joe Girardi a major prick? Well one, because I can and two, because I can. And oh yeah, three, because he is.

With Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau still suffering the effects of a concussion from earlier in the week, he decided it would be best to skip the 2010 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday in Anaheim.

And with Morneau being a fan selection to the American League squad, it was up to Girardi to choose his replacement. So with Kevin Youkilis of the Red Sox and Paul Konerko of the Chicago White Sox out there with All-Star credentials, the major prick picked Konerko.

Now I have absolutely nothing against Konerko for being chosen, he has the numbers to be there. But why in the heck isn't Youk there after finishing a close second to Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher in the AL All-Star final vote.

After all, Morneau was elected by the fans. Youk finished way ahead of Konerko in the final vote.

So why did the major prick chose Konerko?

It's quite simple actually. The rivalry between the Red Sox and the Yankees.

There's a time and a place to let the rivalry between the Red Sox and Yankees come between things but the 2010 All-Star Game counts. While the two (Konerko and Youk) have similar numbers, Youk brings a different dimension to the game in that he can play first and third base.

If it weren't for the other members of the Red Sox being in the game, I'd probably boycott it. But knowing the major prick, he probably won't play them in the game and show us why he is a major prick.

Video: Tina Charles Asks Geno Auriemma To Shoot a Three & Hilarity Ensues

Towards the end of today's WNBA All-Star Game at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, former UConn Huskies All-American center Tina Charles asked her Team USA Basketball coach and former college coach Geno Auriemma if she could shoot a three pointer.

Of course with Geno being Geno, he obliged her offer and even said he'd give her $50 if she made it and she had to give him $25 if she missed.

Rather than spoil what happens, I'll let you enjoy the video of the hilarity that ensued:

During today's WNBA All-Star Game at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, three-time UConn Huskies All-American forward Maya Moore had 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals in USA Basketball's 99-72 win over the WNBA All-Stars.

Moore was also on one of six Huskies in the game who played. Diana Taurasi (9 pts), Sue Bird (2 pts), Swin Cash (13 pts), Renee Montgomery (0 pts) and Tina Charles (6 pts) were the others.

Wait, what??? Moore is playing in the WNBA All-Star Game yet she's still got one year to go at UConn? Ya don't say!

Yes Moore was playing in today's WNBA All-Star Game because she is the only collegiate player that is part of the player pool for USA Women's Basketball. And with Geno Auriemma as her head coach there too, Moore was afforded the opportunity to play in the game and deservedly so.

And by the looks of this up and under move by Moore, you couldn't tell she's still in college:

Video: Terry Francona Ejects Umpire After His Ejection

Written by Ian on .

Boston Red Sox skipper Terry Francona was a little hot under the collar with home plate umpire Jeff Kellogg after Kellogg had ejected center fielder Mike Cameron from the game. Cameron had some words for Kellogg as he was leaving and eventually was tossed while in the dugout.

Francona came out to protect Cameron and whatever Kellogg said to Tito set him off as he was ejected from the game. Within a second of being ejected, Tito ejected Kellogg from the game.
