Video: UConn Men's Basketball Flashback - "The Shot"

Written by Ian on .

Do you remember where you were on March 22, 1990? I'm guessing some of you might not have even been born yet.

On that date in 1990, the UConn Huskies men's basketball team trailed the Clemson Tigers with 1.0 seconds left in the game by one point. But after a long inbounds pass from Hamden, CT native Scott Burrell, Tate George hit the shot to give the Huskies the win.

Of course in their next game, Duke's Christian Laettner would do the same the same thing to them. But I digress.

The reason I bring this up is because my father came across these newspaper clippings from the Hartford Courant the following the day while doing some spring cleaning.
