Kevin Correia (L), John Lackey (R)

After getting spanked last night, the Boston Red Sox look to salvage a split of their four-game series tonight with the Minnesota Twins at historic Fenway Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. If you live in the Red Sox television market you can catch the game on NESN. If you live in the Twins television market, you can catch the game on Fox Sports North. And if you can't catch the game on television, you can always listen on the 2013 Red Sox Radio Network.

Kevin Correia makes his seventh start of 2013 and in the AL. In his previous six starts, Correia is 3-2 with a 2.83 ERA. His lone career appearance against the Red Sox came in 2007 when he threw one inning of scoreless ball at the Fens.

Video: RemDawg Accuses Don Orsillo of Being a Kleptomaniac

Written by Ian on .

Back when the Boston Red Sox were in Cleveland in mid-April, NESN play-by-play man Don Orsillo was busted for stealing mustard from the Cleveland Indians cafeteria.

Since then, Orsillo has been getting cases of mustard from the National Mustard Musuem in Wisconsin. And with "Mustard Gate" being over, we have new one on our hands, "Tea Gate".

During last night's game against the Minnesota Twins, NESN analyst Jerry Remy accused Orsillo of being a kleptomaniac after he saw Orsillo steal tea bags from the Red Sox cafeteria.

As Remy said during the video, I'm sure there'll be a ton of tea bags waiting for Orsillo when he arrives at the ballpark on Thursday.

Webster Optioned; De La Torre Called Up

Written by Ian on .

After giving up eight runs on six hits in 1.2 innings of work on Wednesday night, Allen Webster found himself heading back down the Lou Merloni Expressway (I-95) to Pawtucket.

Boston Red SoxThe Red Sox optioned Webster back to the PawSox after the game. According to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe, the Red Sox will be calling up RHP Jose De La Torre from the PawSox.

The Red Sox will need to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for De La Torre. It'll be interesting to see who they remove.

De La Torre has made 10 appearances for the PawSox and was 1-0 with a 1.56 ERA. He's allowed just five hits, 10 walks and 17 strikeouts over 17.1 innings. Opponents are hitting just .089 against him.

The move is much needed for the Red Sox bullpen as they've been slightly over used over the past six games. Hopefully John Lackey can give them some relief tonight.

UPDATE 4:45 PM: It appears the injury to Joel Hanrahan is more serious than first anticipated as he was moved to the 60-day DL to make room for De La Torre on the 40-man roster.

Afternoon Red Sox Delight - 5/8

Written by Ian on .

Pedro Hernandez (L), Allen Webster (R)

After falling last night, the Boston Red Sox look to get back on the winning side of things in the third game of a four-game set with the Minnesota Twins.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. If you live in the Red Sox television market you can catch the game on NESN Plus. If you live in the Twins television market, you can catch the game on Fox Sports North. If you don't live in either market, you're in luck as ESPN will have coverage of the game outside of the Red Sox and Twins TV markets. The game is also available on WatchESPN. And if you can't catch the game on television, you can always listen on the 2013 Red Sox Radio Network.

Allen Webster steps in for Felix Doubront, who was temporarily demoted to the bullpen, to make his second start of 2013 and MLB career. He made his big league debut and only start on April 21 when he took a no decision after allowing three runs (two earned) in six innings of work against the Kansas City Royals.

Pedro Hernandez makes his fourth start (sixth appearance) of 2013. In his previous five appearances (three starts), Hernandez is 1-0 with a 3.92 ERA. His lone career start against the Red Sox came in 2012 as a member of the Chicago White Sox. In that start, he took the loss after allowing eight runs in four innings of work.
