Former UConn Huskies defensive lineman Rob Lunn should be proud of this moment last night from the New England Patriots win over the Green Bay Packers. After all, he did start a blog called "Thoughts From a Fat White Guy" while at UConn that still continues to this very day.
Trailing 17-7 late in the half, the Packers decided to go with as squib kick to keep the ball away from Patriots return man Brandon Tate. The ball ended up in the arms of right guard Dan Connolly and he ended up taking the ball back 71 yards to the Packers four-yard line. It was the longest kickoff return by a lineman in NFL history.
What's impressive to me is that while he looked like a lineman carrying the ball with two hands at first, he then tucked it away under his left arm looking like a running back or wide receiver as he rumbled down the field.
