Josh Beckett (L), Dustin Moseley (R)

With a chance to gain some ground in the AL East and AL Wild Card tonight, the Boston Red Sox will look to take game three of a four-game set against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

This evening’s game will start at 8:05 p.m. and will be shown nationally on ESPN. If you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2010 Red Sox radio network

Josh Beckett returns to the scene of the crime so to speak as his last start at Yankee Stadium this year ended up putting him on the disabled list with the back problems. He has pitched well since returning from the DL and has made 11 starts this season and is 3-1 with a 5.70 ERA. He’s made three starts against the Yankees in 2010 and is 0-1 with a 10.43 ERA. He’s made 20 career starts against the Yanks and is 9-6 with a 5.95 ERA. He’s made 9 career starts in New York and is 5-2 with a 4.78 ERA.

Tomorrow night’s starter Dustin Moseley steps in tonight for A.J. Burnett who was scratched with back spasms. Moseley has made six appearances and two starts since being called up from the minors on July 2nd. In those six appearances, Moseley is 1-1 with a 4.13 ERA. He’s had three appearances (two starts) against the Red Sox in his career as a member of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In those three appearances, he is 1-0 with a 5.84 ERA.
