The Texas Rangers celebrate their 10-0 win in a baseball game against the Boston Red Sox in Boston, Friday, Sept. 2, 2011. The Rangers won 10-0.

Here’s what you need to know about last night’s game for the Boston Red Sox.

Andrew Miller sucked as did Matt Albers. Michael Bowden pitched okay and Tim Wakefield was outstanding out of the bullpen. And the offense managed just two hits off of Derek Holland and none against two Texas Rangers relievers.

And because of the loss, the Red Sox are now a ½ game behind the New York Yankees for first place in the AL East. They do lead the Tampa Bay Rays by nine games in the AL Wild Card standings though.

We’ll be back later with this afternoon’s lineups, batter/pitcher matchups and links from the day. But for now, enjoy the overnight links below by clicking on the read more button below if you’re on the home page.
