Baseball America is busy right now putting together its top 20 prospects lists by league now that the minor league baseball season is over.

They got started last week with the Arizona League, the Gulf Coast League, Appalachian League, Pioneer League, NY/Penn League, Northwest League, Midwest League, South Atlantic League, California League, Carolina League, Florida State League, Eastern League, Southern League, Texas League and Pacific Coast League.

Boston Red SoxNow we’ll look at the International League where the Red Sox minor leaguers play with the Pawtucket Red Sox.

The Red Sox had minor leaguers ranked in the top 20 and both them finished the season with the big club in Boston. They are C Ryan Lavarnway (6) and SS Jose Iglesias (11).

Lavarnway was sixth round draft pick in 2008 out of Yale in New Haven, CT. He spent 2008 in Lowell, 2009 in Greenville, and split the 2010 season between Salem and Portland. In 2011, he played in Portland and Pawtucket before a promotion to the Red Sox.

He spent the 2012 season with the PawSox before a promotion to the Red Sox. In 83 games with the PawSox, Lavarnway hit .295 with eight home runs, 43 RBIs and one stolen base. In his time with the Red Sox, he played in 46 games where he hit .157 with two home runs and 12 RBIs.

Iglesias was signed as an international free agent out of Cuba in 2009 and was given a MLB contract worth $6.25 million. He played in the Arizona Fall League in 2009 and then spent 2010 with the Lowell Spinners and Portland Sea Dogs. He spent 2011 with the PawSox and the Red Sox.

He started the 2012 season with the PawSox where he played in 88 games and hit .266 with one home run, 23 RBIs and 12 stolen bases. In 25 games with the Red Sox, he hit .118 with one home run, two RBIs and one stolen base.
